about
“Repetitions strain / Every turn, a slow degrade”
As Laika’s preparation continued, ironically the engineers that had selected her for death began to grow increasingly fond of her. Nonetheless, they had to prepare her for the brutal conditions she would endure during launch.
Thus, Laika was subjected to barrages of experiments and training regimens to prepare her for flight. The most severe of these were high-gravity simulations in a makeshift centrifuge. Despite their increasing affection, the engineers knew that these torturous tests were necessary for the success of their mission.
lyrics
A leash to the maw
A lash on broken frame
Progress creates this blessing
Battered, stunned, linked into circuits
The burden of consequence
Advance to revolution
Decaying truths and indiscretion
A leash to the maw
A lash on broken frame
Progress creates this blessing
Flattened, spun, pressed into service
The burden of consequence
Advance to revolution
Decaying truths and indiscretion
A litany of echoes breeding apathy away
Inert to the risk
Obscured within harm
Spiraling past every cognition
Brought to the heel by coercion’s esteem
Incapacitating force has taken its hold
It carries the weight of the ages within
Stress approaching its fracture with moments of calm
A retold folly, with mimicked cadence
Relentless and callous
Flattened, spun, pressed into service
Repetitions strain
Every turn, a slow degrade
Perfect fit for ages
Trudging into mirrored faces
Lost senses stir within
Masking signals of alarm
Hymns will fade into the void
They’re obscured within the harm

I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub
